Outlook is not saving the outgoing email password. What can I do?

HELP! My 92 yr-old grandmother can't send e-mail anymore! Everything worked fine for the past 5 years!

The real problem is that the outgoing mail won't go out without the password. (Incoming mail works fine.) I have the "save password" box checked, but when I close Outlook then open it again, the password is gone!

I've created new email accounts. I've tried turning off Norton Antivirus' email scanning. I've even reinstalled Outlook.

Nothing worked!

In Outlook: go to Tools, Email Accounts, View or change existing email accounts (click next), select the account and click change, enter the username and password under Logon Information and click Remember Password. Test the account settings. (I'm assuming this is a POP3 account).

I had the same problem for a while, but found a way to fix it! The problem for me wasn't the password, but for some reason, it wouldn't accept mine either. Have you changed ISPs (Internet Service Providers) since her outgoing email changed? If so, you need to find a box that says something like Outgoing Port, and change the number 1 higher, for example, 25 to 26. The normal outgoing port is 25, but some ISPs don't support it. Then I could put in my password. If that helps, I'd love to hear it!
