as i start my computer, every day avg free antivirus starts scanning my computer for viruses...

this slows down my computer and wastes a lot of time...

can you please tell how to disable it completely from scanning everyday...........

Right click on the AVG icon, from the drop down menu left click on "Launch AVG test center"

When open click on "scheduler"

Highlight by clicking on "Test plan in basic mode"

click on "Edit schedule"

remove the tick from

"Periodically start scheduled antivirus test"

You'll then have to manually scan your computer for viruses.

You can do this if you want, but remove the program in the control panel in add/remove programs. Then, go to the website and install avg again. After installing it again, when you first at the control panel or test center idk but there will be a pop up asking you these step like you know when you have to pick options, and like press next or back or finish? yeah so when you get to daily scan or manual scan, press like that circle white dot right next to manual scan and the dot turn green. Manuel scan is when you press scan yourself. After finishing that pop up, there you have it! No more automatic scan
The program is doing what most people would want it to do. But if you don't like the free one, uninstall and buy one. It will be just the same and scan your computer at inconvenient times. Why not just have none and no computer to play with.
