it keeps freezing and then it says scanning but it didnt even can 1 file yet and its been almost 20 minutes..... it usually scans thousands by now! i just just got the virus...how can i fix this?

You may have some malware that disables Norton. I suggest you download the free Stinger from McAfee and run it in Safe Mode. Stinger's only purpose in life is to detect attacks on the major A-V programs.
It鈥檚 so good at it the publisher has had to change its name a few times to keep malware from defending against it.
I don't know if it can actually fix any damage done -- you may have to reinstall Norton -- but it should keep it from being re-disabled when you do.

Note: Norton has become a crap at the most try Symantec, it's better. (which is also from the makers of Norton)

go to housecall.trendmicro.com and use their online scanner...works great and detects great too. Itll detect any virus, spyware, maleware, grayware on your computer.
make sure you have spyware protection too. if youre on a trial of norton, after it expires use avira antivir
i recommend windows defender for anti spyware
DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER viruses can become worse that way, especially if its slowing down your computer that way
restart your computer and try again. computers freeze sometimes.
Use some other software. AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
